Beyond the celebrity seals of approval, however, are these weighted blankets and onesies really worth the hype? According to reviews, the answer is a resounding yes.

One Amazon reviewer—who purchased the weighted blanket—writes “My toddler was having a lot of trouble sleeping and staying in one place in their bed. Not only that, but they would wake up several times a night. This caused a negative impact in not only my toddler, but it also affected my sleep. On the first night of using the blanket, they slept a full 11 hours! They are sleeping so much better using this weighted blanket and haven’t been waking up in the middle of the night. Now, after using this for over three months, when I lay the blanket onto them, they go to sleep almost immediately.”

Over at Nordstrom, one reviewer of the sleep sack says, “My husband and I tried different swaddles and sacks, but none of them worked magic like this one. She instantly slept longer on the first night. And she doesn’t overheat as it is made out of breathable cotton.” Another notes that it took some time for the sack to really have a noticeable effect, but did the trick after about a week. “The first night we didn’t see much improvement, but [on] night two he only woke up twice, and [on] nights three and four he was waking up once. By night five, he was sleeping through the night!”

It’s worth noting that the American Academy of Pediatricians advises against using a weighted sleep sack, weighted blanket or any blanket, for children under 12 months. If you’re unsure about the pros and cons of weighted blankets for kids, we highly suggest talking with your doctor.
